For architectural and interior photographers

Approved, paid, then published. In that order.

No more finished projects on the practice website, the developer’s brochure and the glazing supplier’s Instagram while your invoice is still “in approval”. Every party reviews watermarked proofs — the full files follow the payment.

Review

Review the watermarked previews. Final files unlock after payment.

Sound familiar?

Every project has more owners than invoices.

Used before it’s paid

You send the full set for “a quick look”. A week later they are on the practice website, in the developer’s sales brochure and on the Instagram of the glazing supplier who was never part of the deal. Payment follows the next budget cycle — if someone remembers.

Architect, developer, designer, contractor

Everyone on the project wants a say. The architect wants the verticals straighter, the developer wants the crane gone, the interior designer wants the cushions retouched. Each sends notes in a different channel, referring to file names you renamed two versions ago.

“Just one more version”

Another sky, another crop for the facade, another version with the lights on. Small requests, unpaid, and no record of how many there have been.

Why it keeps happening

Full resolution files travel faster than approvals.

Once the finals are in a shared folder, everyone on the project has them — and every party assumes someone else is paying. Feedback has no single place, so it scatters across email and messengers. And nobody counts the rounds except you.

The fix is the order: review first, pay second, files last.

The fix

Review first. Pay second. Files last.

Handover.photo puts the whole project behind one link. Every party reviews watermarked proofs, leaves notes on the image itself and approves. The full resolution files unlock once you have confirmed the payment.

Nothing published unpaid

Before payment there are only watermarked previews at reduced resolution. Useless for a website, a brochure or a press release.

Every party, one gallery

Architect, developer and designer open the same link. Notes sit on the exact image they mean.

Every version on record

Each correction round is a new, visible version in the same gallery. Nobody has to guess which file is current.

Questions

What photographers ask before they start.

Can the architect, developer and designer all review the same set?

Yes. Your client shares the link with the other parties. Everyone sees the same previews and leaves notes on the images. Nobody needs to sign up.

Can the previews be used before payment?

Not in any useful way. Previews are watermarked on the server and shown at reduced resolution. The full resolution files stay locked until you confirm the payment.

Do you change my files?

No. After payment the client downloads exactly the full resolution files you uploaded — TIFF included.

How does the client pay?

Directly to you, by bank transfer, PayPal or Bitcoin. We never take a share of your fee.

Where are the photos stored?

On European servers. Originals are never publicly reachable, and every download link is signed and expires.
